Dolphin Derby Registration and Official Rules

 

All Anglers agree to strictly adhere to these rules.

1.    IGFA rules for record fish will be enforced for this tournament.

2.    The Official Weighmaster & the Department of Fish and Wildlife must weigh all fish.

3.    The official Tournament scales, and no others will determine the weight for all fish.

4.    All fish must be caught on the day of the Tournament and may be tested for freshness.

5.    Pictures must be taken of the winning fish, Angler, and the Rod and Reel used to catch the fish. Do not allow your fish to be cut or altered in any way prior to presenting it for weigh-in Officials. Any mutilated fish will be disqualified. Fish must be in editable condition and not frozen.

6.    The winner of the $25,000.00 cash award, and witness, and tournament Officials may be subjected to passing a Polygraph examination as a condition of president to claim consideration, at the discretion of the Virgin Island Game Fishing Club, and Promotion Sponsors.

7.    Each angler must agree to pay any and all taxes incurred with the winning of prizes from this event. 1099 Misc. forms will be issued on any prizes over $600.00. Soc. Sec. No. Will be required to receive the prizes.

8.    The largest Dolphin over 55 pounds will win the $25,000.00. Only one winner will be eligible to win the top prize. Cash prizes will be paid to the next 10 largest Dolphin by weight. Ties will be broken by length. No other species will count for prizes.

9.    Best Boat award will go to the boat with the most Dolphin by count. In the advent of a tie, accumulated length will determine the winner.

10.  Minimum size; no Dolphin less than 32" in length will count for any prize.

11.  Lines in at 6:00 AM and all boats must be at the weigh-in point by 3:00 PM or will be disqualified.

12.  Weigh-in times start at 1:30 PM, not before.

13.  All line must break at or below 80 pounds.

14.  All anglers must fish where legal in U.S.Virgin Islands Waters, Vieques, & Culebra only! Sombrero, Saba Banks, Puerto Rico, are not Virgin Islands waters. Fishing is restricted to duly licensed area only.

15.  Anglers must be at the awards presentation on April 27, 2009 to be eligible to receive their awards. If the angler is not present, the award is forfeited.

16.  Every Angler must fill out the registration form and sign it to win any prize.

17.  All catch reports must be turned in even if no fish are caught.

18.  Entrants agree to hold the Virgin Islands Game Fishing Club Golden Hook Fishing Club, it's sponsors, Employees and Volunteers harmless from any and all actions of any kind.

19.  Any protest must be submitted in writing by 5:00 PM on the day of the event. By signing this form the registrant is agreeing to all of the above rules and regulations.
