It was a great day on the water for this years Dolphin Derby
fisherman with over 200 dolphinfish caught. Twenty boats from
St. Thomas and fourteen boats from St. Croix fished the waters
of the U.S. Virgin Islands and caught a total of 4,592 pounds
of dolphin.

In a tight finish, St. Croix angler Stephen Clark took first place
with a 42.2 pound dolphin. St. Thomas angler Bob Carney was a close
second at 42.0 pounds. Third Place went to St. Croix angler Paul Anderson
with a catch of 41.1 pounds. The best boat, for the second straight
year, went to La Mensagera from St. Croix.
Along with the dolphin, several blue and white marlin hook ups were
reported.
